9:46 AM - Tuesday July 18th, 2017, the first article was posted on PoiseSocial. The article was titled “Mangosi x Culture: Why Makossa is dead!” It was basically a review of a song by sporadic artist Ngoma, a track which featured Kikoh, and French rapper Nernos. A statement Nernos made in the song allowed us an opportunity to discuss a topic of cultural relevance, vis a vis, the state of the makossa genre. And that is PoiseSocial - “Everything Culture.” I want to shout out to those artists for giving me an angle to take my shot. The shoutout equally goes to every other person who has inspired any of my posts.
I started writing out of love which turned to necessity and then responsibility; with accountability lurking around at every level. Yesterday, I googled myself and I was thrown into deep thought when I stumbled on an article written about me. The title of the article carried the word ‘allegedly’ but in the article, the author writes with disregard for the “alleged.” Now my digital footprint includes a clumsy opinion from someone who does not know the meaning of ‘plagiarism.’ It must be obvious why I am really motivated to change how we document our present to make it an accurate representation for the sake of our culture and history moving forward.
2 years in, many have been inspired and some have been irritated. My only hope is that the good has far outweighed the bad. The goal has always been to share knowledge that can help our followers become better versions of themselves while also enjoying the privilege to be part of a group of people that push for high standards from people and in things.
I started the journey all alone but in the process, Wandji Wilfred reach out and wanted to contribute. He has since gone from contributing to being the driving force. I have to thank him for making it possible for PoiseSocial to be where it is today. It feels great knowing that there is someone there to help me pull the weight.
I have written a lot. I hate to count because to me, this is less about numbers and more about impact and belief. I have shared my ideas, opinions, and philosophies. I can’t describe the feeling I get when people tell me I have impacted their lives through my writing. I love writing and I will continue to write. I have two books I am trying to finish and a lot of other stuff to do in my life outside PoiseSocial. arTchitect, the parent company of PoiseSocial is taking new shape so I’ll be working on that more. Which means, I will be writing less. It does not mean I am going away. I’ll keep shaking things up for your learning and entertainment.
That said, PoiseSocial is officially looking to add more writers to the team.
Let me finish by giving a huge shoutout to the devout followers. When we started, they said nobody wants to read something that long on social media but you proved them wrong. I am sure there are many out there that would love our content but just don’t know about it us. If you are a real one, write us a recommendation on our 2 year anniversary.
