It is no longer news that a woman's place was said to be in the kitchen. But with the fast evolution of the world, time has indeed proven that women have a lot to offer in this modern society.

Beside taking care of their family's primal needs, that's food, water, and security, women play a central role in helping them during adverse situations. One of the most crucial factors that lead to gender inequality is a caregiver position that women assumed.

The contribution of women to a society's smooth transition from preliterate to literate, from a relatively autonomous community to a member of a nation, enmeshed in a world economy, has received too little attention from social scientists, analysts and policy makers. Nowadays, women have begun to understand that, their place is not just "only in the kitchen" as they have proven their prowess in leadership in almost all aspects of life...

Let see how women have evolved over times in some aspects where way back in the days, only men could have a say..

WOMEN AND POLITICS..

In the last century, women weren't allowed to vote in a Democratic modern society, a patriarchal concept that her opinion didn't matter. From the complete exclusion of voting rights to selecting elected representatives, we can see that women have surely come a long way. Women have embraced the political career and have shown their active participation. According to the United Nations, 24.3% of national parliamentarians were women as of 2019. Although it is slow progress of 11.6% in 1995, there have been great improvements.

WOMEN AND ARTS.

In art, women were often represented as a muse rather than a creative force behind the art. Women's arts were greatly undervalued and overlooked in comparison to their male counterparts. But with the evolution of the world, the women are finally getting the recognition they deserve(d). In 2008 if I am not mistaking, Christie's auction house New York sold a painting by a Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama for a record price of $5,100,000...the highest sold art by a living female artist....

WOMEN AND MUSIC:

In the 19th Century, only a few women published their music for the audience. This was because women were often said to lack "the creativity" to compose good music. In 1880, George Upton, a music critic, wrote a book in which he argued the LACK OF CREATIVITY IN WOMEN TO BRING OUT GOOD MUSIC.

But today, the world can clearly see that women constitute a large proportion of popular music, song writers, instrumentalists and classical music singers.

Apart from the elaborated aspects mentioned above, women can be seen in full leadership as far as humanitarian activities are concerned. Women are indeed taking the LEAD. Women are changing the narrative.

Women are not just contented in having higher positions in political institutions, offices, ministries, parliaments etc but are also how to empower their fellow gender... It is often said that, EMPOWERING A GIRL CHILD, IS BUILDING A NATION. Women have seemed to understand this and I believe with consistency, focus, perfect socio-political mindset and determination, the world which many foresee to be "DOOM" for the generations to come, will be more of a fruitful and sustainable sphere.

Women are the future. A sustainable future is secured if only we invest in a girl child today. I celebrate every lady out that trying to make a world a better place.

TO THE WORLD;

take the lead, prepare, develop, inspire and propel women to take their fair and equal share in leadership positions across all sectors by 2025. It's a unique catalyst for women to embrace power and reach leadership parity
