First of all, it is important to know that the many of the villages that make up the different strata of the of the Douala tribe have today become big neighbourhoods due to urbanisation.
Today, the Douala people are divided into 6 cantons, and under every canton, are a number of villages.
1) AKWA Canton
It is made up of the following villages.
- Bonaleke - Bonalembe - Bonamouti - Bessengue - Bonangang - Bonadibong - Bonabwandja - Bonabekombo - Bonewonda - Bonabeyike - Bonamikengue - Bonelang - Bonabela Nkon - Bonamouang - Bonangando - Bonebong - Bonejang - Bonamoudourou - Bonamoussadi - Bangue
2) DEIDO Canton
- Bonajinje - Bonatene - Bonamouti - Bonantone - Bonateki
3) BELLE BELLE Canton (Bonaberi)
- Bonendale 1 - Bonendale 2 - Sodiko - Bojongo - Bonamatoumbè - Jebalè 1 - Jebalè 2
4) NJO-NJO Canton

- Bonabele - Bonapriso - Bonadoumbe - Bonadouma
5) BASSA Canton
