Cameroonian Universities Absent from Africa's Top 200

In 2018, no Cameroonian university appeared on uniRank's list of Africa's top 200 institutions, a reversal from the previous year when three Cameroonian universities ranked in the list. The writer frames this as both a disappointment and an opportunity to explore higher education alternatives across the continent.

uniRank is the leading international higher education directory and search engine featuring reviews and rankings of over 13,600 officially recognized Universities and Colleges in 200 countries. Every year, the organization publishes a list of the top 200 universities in Africa.

uniRank’s aim is to provide a non-academic League Table of the top Universities in Africa based on valid, unbiased and non-influenceable web metrics provided by independent web intelligence sources rather than data submitted by the Universities themselves.

In the 2017 version of the list of top ranking universities in Africa, three Cameroonian Universities were featured. The University of Yaounde 1 was 96th, The University of Dschang was 120th, while the University of Buea came in at number 200. This year(2018) no Cameroonian University made it to the top 200.

Meanwhile it is disappointing that no Cameroonian University made it to the top 200, this is rather an opportunity for you to discover other top rated Universities in Africa that you can pursue higher learning in.
